Our Community Impact

Every child deserves a Black teacher

The Black Teacher Project (BTP), is a program that sustains and develops Black teachers to lead and reimagine schools as communities of liberated learning. BTP's vision is that every student will benefit from the diversity, excellence, and leadership of an empowered Black teaching force.

We brought our Decolonizing, Demystifying and Designing Mindfulness sessions to BTP to support their Black Teacher Wellness Program. We offered practical and actionable mindfulness practices to support them in the classroom and beyond, plus they LOVE our affirmation cards and GrateFULLness Gratitude Journal.

Standing in the gap for your Black and brown kings, queens and non-binary royalty

Kingmakers of Oakland (KOO) is a leadership development and systems change organization committed to fundamentally transforming the education system and building the capacity of people to design and sustain thriving and liberated systems, structures, conditions, and culture to improve the educational and life outcomes for Black students. We partnered with KOO on several projects including creating safe and supportive space for Black male teachers in the SF Unified School District, a session offering mindfulness techniques for their leadership and staff and we have a regular presence at their annual Symposiums and events.

Helping a community heal, one member at a time

Roots Community Health (Roots) uplifts those impacted by systemic inequities and poverty. They accomplish this through direct services of medical and behavioral health care, health navigation, workforce enterprises, housing, outreach, and advocacy.

We established a consistent presence with Roots staff attending their monthly "All Staff Meetings". Each month, we offer practical mindfulness tools, ongoing support for stress reduction in times of trauma and a safe space for healing and connection that brings clarity, focus and a renewed sense of purpose. Many of the Roots staff use the app to start internal meetings as well.
